Shopping center Mooierstraat (also known as Drakennest) is a small shopping center in the center of Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
It’s located on an A2/B location in the city center of Amersfoort, a medium sized city with approximately 150,000 inhabitants. The design of the shopping center provides optimal flexibility for creating all possible shop sizes, ranging from 50 to 400 sqm. The project consist out of a total rentable area of 1,700 sqm.
History
Shopping center Mooierstraat opened its doors in 2000 as a shopping center with a strong focus on children related products and services for children in the age group 0-12. The shopping center area provided entertainment for the children while the parents were shopping. TCN bought this project in 2007. Since 2007 the theme ‘children’ was abandoned slightly as other types of retail showed interest in the area as well. Currently shopping center Mooierstraat is best characterized as a family shopping center.
Future
The shopping center has high vacancy. Therefore, TCN is investigating ways to redevelop the center.
Management
TCN has taken care of managing the shopping center since August 2009. Beside the shopping center, the project also owns17 covered parking places. These parking places are fully let.
